Douglas Parker, Jr. is an investment professional that focuses on income tax planning & consulting with an emphasis on small to mid-sized businesses and their owners to maximize after tax cash flow. Doug has a Bachelor of Science from Chapman University in Orange, California in Accounting as well as Business Administration with a Finance Emphasis. With over a decade of experience, Doug has focused on helping his clients—individuals, families, and small businesses— address their specific financial goals and objectives.

Doug holds his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license as well as his Series 7 and 66 securities registrations through LPL Financial and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) Charter Holder. With Doug’s considerable experience, education, and training, he is able to develop comprehensive financial strategies for his individual and business clients that often include distribution plans for retirement, hands-on investment management strategies, tax planning, business analysis, as well as estate and risk management strategies.

Doug has partnered with Householder Group because they share the same goals and objectives necessary to achieve successful outcomes for his clients with integrity and transparency. Like Householder Group, Doug’s focus is on developing and implementing tax strategies and estate-planning techniques endeavoring to reduce income and estate taxes for his clients. In addition, Doug can leverage the availability of sophisticated investment strategies that enable him to focus on capital preservation and multi-generational wealth preparation for his clients. Doug offers a depth of knowledge in many of the critical areas of the financial landscape. In addition to Doug’s professional accomplishments, he is a native of California and has been a resident of Texas for 7 years. He is married to his wife, Brianne, and together they have four wonderful children. Doug loves watching College Football, in particular, the University of Georgia Bulldogs, when there’s not a game on you’ll find Doug hiking, playing darts, or spending time with family.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) To earn his CPA license, Douglas earned a degree in accounting, passed the CPA examination, and  demonstrated qualifying work experience. CPAs are licensed and regulated by their state boards of accountancy.  While state laws and regulations vary, the education, experience and testing requirements for licensure as a CPA generally include minimum college education (typically 150 credit hours with at least a baccalaureate degree and a concentration in accounting), minimum experience levels (most states require at least one year of experience providing services that involve the use of accounting, attest, compilation, management advisory, financial advisory, tax or consulting skills, all of which must be achieved under the supervision of or verification by a CPA), and successful passage of the Uniform CPA Examination. In order to maintain a CPA license, states generally require the completion of 40 hours of continuing professionaleducation (CPE) each year (or 80 hours over a twoyear period or 120 hours over a threeyear period).  Additionally, all American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) members are required to follow a rigorous Code of Professional Conduct which requires that they act with integrity, objectivly, due care, competence, fully disclose any conflicts of interest (and obtain client consent if a conflict exists), maintain client confidentiality, disclose to the client any commission or referral fees, and serve the public interest when providing financial services. The vast majority of state boards of accountancy have adopted the AICPA’s Code of Professional Conduct within their state accountancy laws or have  created their own. 

Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) 

The Chartered Financial Analyst®  or CFA®  designation is earned from the  CFA Institute, a global, not‐for‐profit organization of investment professionals.  Candidates must have in‐depth knowledge of securities types and investment vehicles, and have earned at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited school.  To earn the CFA®designation, Douglas, successfully passed all  three exam levels (sixhour each, covering ethics, quantitative methods, economics, corporate finance,  financial reporting and analysis, security analysis, and portfolio management), completed at least four  years of qualified investment work experience, and became a member of the CFA Institute.  To maintain the designation, he must annually renew his pledge to adhere to the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and  Standards of ProfessionalConduct and maintain his membership in a local CFA member society.   [Chartered Financial Analyst® and CFA® are trademarks owned by the CFA Institute.]
